TRIPOLI, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Ahmad al-Garari, COVID-19 vaccination cooperator at the Libyan National Center for Disease Control, said on Saturday that more than 250,000 people have received vaccines against COVID-19 so far in Libya.

"Almost 256,000 people have been vaccinated so far. There is a good demand for the vaccines," al-Garari told Xinhua.

"Nearly all medical staff treating COVID-19 patients have been vaccinated. Also, the elderly are now being vaccinated," he said.

According to the National Center for Disease Control, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Libya so far is 186,953, including 172,916 recoveries and 3,137 fatalities. Enditem
