SHANGHAI, June 19 (Xinhua) -- In the clouds and on top of the city, the Shanghai Tower J Hotel opened on Saturday, claiming to be the tallest in the world.
As its name suggests, J Hotel is housed in the Shanghai Tower, the world's second-tallest building at 632 meters, located in the central business district of Lujiazui, Pudong district, near the Shanghai World Financial Center and Jin Mao Tower.
The hotel lobby, believed to be the tallest of its kind, rises 470 meters above the ground to the 101st floor. Heavenly Jin, one of its seven restaurants and bars, lies atop the hotel on the 120th floor at a height of 556 meters. It is applying for the Guinness World Records for the highest restaurant.
Operated by hospitality group Jin Jiang International, J Hotel boasts 165 rooms, including 34 suites, varying from 62 to 380 square meters. Every room has unique views, from the glittering skyline of Lujiazui, to the spectacular views of the Bund across the Huangpu River.
It creates more innovative stays and luxury experience in Shanghai, and also becomes one of the most expensive hotels of this city.
