SANTIAGO, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Chile reported 3,464 new COVID-19 infections and 45 more deaths on Tuesday, to total 1,525,663 cases and 31,690 deaths.
In its daily report, the Ministry of Health said that infections have dropped by 18 percent nationally in the last seven days.
It also pointed out that in 13 of the country's 16 regions, new COVID-19 cases have dropped over the last week.
The regions with the greatest increase in cases in the last seven days were Arica and Parinacota, Atacama and Tarapaca in the north, while the southern region of Aysen had the highest incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, according to official data.
A total of 3,232 people are hospitalized in intensive care units, of which 2,762 are on ventilators, said the health ministry. Enditem
