JAKARTA, June 23 (Xinhua) -- The harvesting of palm oil fruits has begun at a palm oil plantation in Langkat district, North Sumatra, Indonesia.

Palm oil production is important to the economy of Indonesia, the world's biggest producer and consumer of the commodity which provides about half of the world's supply.
