RAMALLAH, July 12 (Xinhua) - At least six Palestinians were injured on Monday in clashes with Israeli soldiers near the northern West Bank city of Jenin, medics and eyewitnesses said.

Medics said that five young men and one girl were shot and injured by Israeli soldiers in the clashes between dozens of demonstrators and the soldiers in the southern neighborhoods of the city.

They said that the six were moved to the hospital for medical treatment, adding that all were shot by live ammunition and in moderate conditions.

Eyewitnesses said the clashes broke out in the city when the Israeli army stormed the southern neighborhoods to arrest Palestinians wanted by the Israeli security forces.

On Monday, the Israeli media reported that an Israeli army force raided Jenin to arrest five wanted Palestinians, adding that Palestinian gunmen opened fire at the force and no injuries were reported.

However, Amani Sarahneh, spokeswoman of the Palestinian Prisoners' Club Association in the West Bank, told Xinhua that the Israeli army arrested early on Monday 11 Palestinians after storming their homes in the West Bank.

Meanwhile, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA said that Israeli army bulldozers demolished five structures in the village of Hares, west of the West Bank city of Salfit.

Head of the village council Omar Samara said that the Israeli forces demolished commercial structures, including a blacksmith shop, a carpenter shop, car repair and wash shops, in addition to a vegetable and fruit shop. Enditem
