Vietnam records 4,795 new COVID-19 cases, 62,820 in total

HANOI, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported 4,795 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, including 4,789 locally transmitted and six imported, according to the country's Ministry of Health.

The new infections brought the total tally in the country to 62,820 with 334 deaths, the ministry said.

Among the community cases, 3,322 were reported in the southern epicenter Ho Chi Minh City, 578 in the nearby southern Binh Duong province, and 162 in the southern Dong Nai province.

Nationwide, as many as 11,443 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered, up 396 from Monday.

As of Tuesday, Vietnam has registered a total of 60,735 domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, including 59,165 detected since the start of the latest outbreak in late April, the ministry said. Enditem
