Zambia's electoral body says ready to hold polls

LUSAKA, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Zambia's electoral body said on Tuesday it is ready to hold general elections slated for next month.

Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Chief Electoral Officer Patrick Nshindano said the electoral body is on course to hold the August 12 general elections, adding that over 90 percent of work has been done in the printing of ballot boxes.

He told reporters during a press briefing that the printing of the ballot boxes will be completed this week, with shipment expected next week.

He said that the electoral body is ready to hold the elections in a partial and fair manner. Enditem
