Iran reports 18,632 new COVID-19 cases, 3,664,286 in total

TEHRAN, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Saturday reported 18,632 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's total infections to 3,664,286.

The pandemic has so far claimed 88,532 lives in Iran, up by 259 in the past 24 hours, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education reported.

A total of 3,239,172 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 4,784 remain in intensive care units, according to the ministry.

By Saturday, 7,654,612 people have received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccines in the country, with 2,372,016 taking two doses.

The Iranian health authorities have re-imposed restrictions amidst the spread of Delta variant of COVID-19 in the country as the number of infections has been in alarming point in most parts of Iran over the past weeks.
