LHASA, July 25 (Xinhua) -- An art exhibition opened on Sunday at Jebum-Gang Lhakhang Palace, an ancient building in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The 200-year-old building, now called the Jebum-Gang Art Center, undertook repair and renovation launched by the local government in 2018.
Built in the mid-19th century, the Jebum-Gang Lhakhang Palace has been a landmark in Lhasa. It features a unique and rare mandala structure and hosts several murals from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
Experts say the building is of great importance for the study of Tibet's architecture, art, and history.
Fang Kun, head of the Jebum-Gang Art Center, said the center would cooperate with other art institutions to hold cultural and educational events for the public and commit to showcasing traditional culture. Enditem
