HAVANA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Cuba reported on Wednesday a new daily record of COVID-19 cases after registering 9,323 COVID-19 infections in one day, for a total of 358,378 cases, in addition to 68 more deaths, to total 2,560.

"We have had seven consecutive days with more than 7,000 cases," national director of hygiene and epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health Francisco Duran noted during his daily report.

Out of the total number of infections recorded in the last day, 19 were imported cases, he added.

Havana and Matanzas registered most of the cases in the last 24 hours, as different variants of the novel coronavirus circulate in the country.

Currently, about 9 million vaccine doses of nationally-produced vaccines against COVID-19 have been administered, as the immunization of pregnant women is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Enditem
