JAKARTA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose 1,053 in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 4,232,099, with the death toll adding by 37 to 142,848, the Indonesian Health Ministry reported on Thursday.

According to the ministry, 1,715 more recovered patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries from the pandemic in the Southeast Asian country to 4,069,399.

To date, at least 104.30 million people in Indonesia have taken their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 60.42 million are fully vaccinated. Some 1.04 million Indonesians have received their third dose, the ministry added.

The Indonesian government aims to vaccinate 208.2 million people in the country. Enditem
