BUENOS AIRES, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Boca Juniors are close to signing central defender Jorge Figal from Inter Miami, according to media reports in Argentina.
The 27-year-old has been identified as a priority transfer target by Boca manager Sebastian Battaglia amid concerns about the team's lack of defensive depth, the Ole news outlet reported.
The proposed move could be facilitated by Inter Miami's need to offload some players to meet Major League Soccer's financial fair play rules, it added.
Figal has made 47 appearances across all competitions for Inter Miami since joining the club from Independiente in January 2020.
