BEIRUT, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- An investigating judge on Tuesday froze all assets of Lebanon's Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, who is accused of embezzlement and money laundering, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

The move comes after the People Want to Reform the System group filed a legal complaint against Salameh.

A travel ban was already issued last week against the governor, forbidding him to travel by land, sea, or air.

Salameh dismissed the lawsuit against him and failed to show up for a questioning session on Tuesday.

Salameh, who is among the top Lebanese officials widely blamed for the country's unprecedented financial crisis, has been the target of a series of judicial lawsuits at home and abroad involving money laundering, illicit enrichment and other charges.
