BEIJING, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- China helped 853,000 employees get their wage arrears and other earnings paid in 2021, with the payment amount totaling 7.99 billion yuan (about 1.26 billion U.S. dollars), according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Thursday.
In 2021, China's labor-protecting authorities at all levels investigated and handled 106,000 cases of labor and social security violations, including 63,000 wage-related cases.
China is organizing a special campaign to tackle the stubborn issue of wage arrears by the Spring Festival in 2022, focusing on the construction sector and other industries prone to such violations. ■
