JERUSALEM, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- About two-thirds of survey participants vaccinated with the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot reported at least one side effect, Israel's Ministry of Health said Wednesday.

The survey, conducted by the ministry and included 2,049 participants, examined the prevalence of symptoms that appeared within 21 to 30 days in adults since receiving the third dose against the virus.

It was also found that the rate of young people and women among those who suffered from side effects was higher compared to older people and men, respectively.

The most common symptoms after receiving the vaccine were pain (54.2 percent), weakness and fatigue (42.5 percent) and headache (26.3 percent), from a long list of local, general, neurological, allergic and other symptoms reported in the survey.

It also found that 9.6 percent of women under the age of 54 reported menstrual changes following the third jab.

Of chronic patients, exacerbation was reported in about a quarter of those who suffered from anxiety, depression and autoimmune diseases following the booster dose.
