CHONGLI, Zhangjiakou, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- Norway's Marte Olsbu Roiseland had a clean shot to win the women's 7.5km sprint biathlon gold medal in 20 minutes and 44.3 seconds at Beijing 2022 here on Friday.

This is the second gold for the 31-year-old, who also won the mixed relay 4x6km with her Norwegian teammates on February 5.

Roiseland, the silver medalist in the event at PyeongChang 2018, led early and reached the finish line first.

"I'm really satisfied with my race today. I think I did the best I could. My shooting was clean and my ski time was really good. My shape was so good, so I'm so happy about my race," she said.

With the gold, Roiseland joined Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia and Uschi Disl of Germany as the only athletes with medals in the event at successive Olympic Winter Games.

Olympic debutant Elvira Oberg of Sweden took the silver without a single miss, 30.9 seconds back.

"Maybe I went a bit too fast in the first lap, but I'm so happy that I managed to shoot clean. I managed to do it when it matters the most so I'm just so happy right now," said the 22-year-old Swede.

Italy's Dorothea Wierer finished third with no miss, 37.2 seconds behind the winner.

The three-time Olympian, who took two relay bronze medals from the previous two Winter Games, considered Friday's race was tough for her.

Wierer was happy to get her first individual biathlon medal. "I knew I was losing, but I couldn't feel my legs any more and it was so hard. But I really did give it all and I'm really happy."

China's Tang Jialin, Chu Yuanmeng, Meng Fanqi and Ding Yuhuan finished 35th, 61st, 62nd and 76th respectively.
