JERUSALEM, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball Super League club Maccabi Rishon LeZion has signed former NBA and CBA player Archie Goodwin, the club announced on Sunday.

The 27-year-old guard only joined Ukrainian club BC Budivelnyk in January, but left due to the security situation in that country.

He played college basketball at Kentucky Wildcats, before being selected with the 29th overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2013 NBA draft.

Goodwin's NBA career lasted four years, including three seasons at the Phoenix Suns. He also played for the New Orleans Pelicans and the Brooklyn Nets.

His record includes 165 NBA games, averaging 6.3 points and 1.2 assists in 14.5 minutes per game.

Between 2017 and 2019, he played in the NBA G League, as well as in China for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, where he participated in only two games.

His European career also includes spells at Turkish club ITU BK, Germany's Ratiopharm Ulm and Metropolitans 92 of France.

In Israel, he will reunite with swingman Anthony Brown, with whom he played with the French national team.
