RABAT, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 752 prisoners on the occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday, said a statement from the Moroccan justice ministry on Friday.
Eid al-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic festivals of the year that starts on Friday in Morocco.
According to the statement, 374 prisoners had their prison terms reduced, while 208 benefitted from pardon over their remaining terms.
Many of the rest had either their fines or both fines and prison terms reduced. Enditem
