Incumbent Mongolian PM appointed as acting chairman of ruling party

ULAN BATOR, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Incumbent Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene was appointed as acting chairman of the ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP), the party said in a statement on Friday.

The appointment was made at the MPP's conference held earlier in the day.

The announcement came after Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, former Mongolian prime minister and chairman of the party, won the country's presidential election on June 9. Enditem
