JAKARTA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.6-magnitude jolted North Sulawesi province in the central part of Indonesia on Saturday evening, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.

The quake hit at 8:07 p.m. Jakarta time (1307 GMT) with the epicenter at 121 km southwest of Melonguane, the capital city of Kepulauan Talaud district, and the shallow at 10 km under the seabed, Rudi Teguh, an official of the agency, said.
