Indonesia reports 15,768 newly-confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,128 more deaths

JAKARTA, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 15,768 within one day to 3,908,247, with the death toll adding by 1,128 to 121,141, the country's Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, 29,794 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of patients recovering from COVID-19 to 3,443,903.

To date, at least 29.40 million people in the country have received two shots of vaccines, while 55.19 million have taken the first doses, the ministry added.

The southeast Asia's biggest economy is targeting to vaccinate 208.2 million people. Enditem
