COVID-19 cases rise to 494,974 in Myanmar

YANGON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar has risen to 494,974 on Monday after 711 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, according to a release from the Ministry of Health.

The release said 22 new deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 18,560 in the country as of Monday.

A total of 458,470 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 4.75 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.

Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 cases on March 23 last year. Enditem
