SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Police in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir Wednesday said three militants were killed in a gunfight in the region.
The gunfight, according to the police, broke out in village Chandgam of Pulwama district, about 30 km south of Srinagar city, summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
The police said government forces did not suffer casualties during the clash with the militants.
There has been a surge in gunfights in the region over the past two weeks. ■
