ISLAMABAD, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's exports increased by 26 percent during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022, compared with the same period of the last fiscal year, an official said on Wednesday.

The country's exports during July-February of FY 2022 were recorded at 20.552 billion U.S. dollars as compared to 16.324 billion dollars during the corresponding period of last fiscal year, Abdul Razak Dawood, advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment, said in a tweet.

Moreover, in February 2022, exports grew by 36 percent to 2.808 billion dollars, as compared to 2.068 billion U.S. dollars in February 2021, the official said.

Economic experts in Pakistan believe that the increase in exports is linked to the prudent policies and multiple incentives given by the government to support export-oriented industries.
