SUVA, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Almost half of those currently infected with COVID-19 have not had their vaccination status recorded, Samoa's Ministry of Health said on Monday.

Of all the active cases, 47 percent, or around 90 people, have an unknown vaccination status, the Samoa Observer reported, while 3 percent are unvaccinated and the remaining 50 percent have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

Figures showed that the majority of those infected are among the 15-29 age group.

The current active cases also include three children under 4 and six people above 60.

So far 181 positive cases have been detected as a result of the 2,211 Rapid Antigen Tests completed since Friday, with no reported deaths.

Last Friday, Samoa went into the alert level 2 lockdown, and then shifted to the alert level 3 the next day.
