KIEV, June 9 (Xinhua) -- A second batch of humanitarian medical aid from China has arrived in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the timely and large-scale assistance from the Chinese government significantly contributes to supporting Ukraine's efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.

"The leadership and people of Ukraine are sincerely grateful to the Chinese side for the assistance and full support for Ukraine's efforts to curb the coronavirus infection," Kuleba said.

The foreign minister also expressed confidence that the trustful, open, and friendly atmosphere that has developed in the relations between Ukraine and China will contribute to the comprehensive development of the Ukraine-China strategic partnership.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the second batch of aid from the Chinese government includes coronavirus diagnostic test systems, medical masks, medical safety glasses, non-contact thermometers, surgical masks, medical protective suits and disposable medical gloves.

On April 1, the Chinese government handed over the first batch of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which included test systems, personal protective equipment, non-contact thermometers, among others. Enditem
