TBILISI, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Georgia exported a record amount of 28.3 million bottles of wine to 55 countries in the first four months of 2021, with Russia, Ukraine, Poland and China ranking as the top four destinations, the Georgian National Wine Agency said Friday.
Georgia generated about 65 million U.S. dollars from the sale of wine abroad in the period, the agency said in a statement, stressing that the volume of exports increased by 15 percent while revenue increased by 7 percent compared to the same period of 2020.
The four top wine importers Russia, Ukraine, Poland and China purchased 17.2 million, 3.3 million, 1.8 million and 1.6 million bottles respectively from Georgia in January-April, according to the agency. Enditem
