DAMASCUS, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. forces have moved 50 Islamic State (IS) militants from its base in northeastern Syria to the eastern province of Deir al-Zour, state news agency SANA reported on Thursday.

The IS militants were transported from the U.S. base in the Shaddadi area in Hasakah province in northeastern Syria to the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour by helicopters, said SANA.

The official news agency said that the U.S. has made this move to use these militants again in operations against the Syrian army on Syrian soil. These militants have been trained in the U.S. base in Shaddadi before being transferred to Deir al-Zour.

The Syrian government has repeatedly accused the U.S. forces of supporting the IS militants in Syria and using them in operations abasing the Syrian army. Enditem
