
A restorer works by a recently discovered wooden beam in the pit of the Khufu boats on the southern side of the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt, August 31, 2016. An 8m long, 40cm wide and 4cm thick wooden beam was found during excavations carried out inside the pit of the Khufu boats and more studies will be carried out in order to discover the beam's original function. The Khufu boats which intended for use in the afterlife were discovered in 1954 on the southern side of the Great Pyramid of Giza. (Xinhua/Ahmed Gomaa)
