BEIJING, Dec.28 (Xinhuanet) -- The first direct flight connecting China and Cuba has landed in Havana.
The Cuban government held a ceremony at the airport. The Air China plane left Beijing on Sunday.
It is China's first direct route to the Caribbean region.
The direct flight, with a stop in Montreal for refuelling, shortens the flight time to around 19 hours.
In 2014, nearly 30,000 Chinese tourists visited Cuba. China is also Cuba's second largest trade partner.
