US will not take sides on South China Sea issue

The Chinese Foreign Minister also attended a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of the ASEAN foreign ministers meeting.

They agreed to work together to get solid benefits for the people of their countries. They also discussed South China Sea issues. 

Wang Yi said, "I want to tell you that Secretary Kerry has made it very clear that the United States will not take sides on an arbitral ruling of the South China Sea arbitration case. And his country supports the resumption of talks between China and the Philippines. The US also supports resolving the issue by dialogue and negotiation."
