MANILA, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- Four people, including a police officer, died and seven others were injured after a trailer truck rammed three cars and plowed into roadside houses on a highway south of Manila on Friday morning, police said.
Police said the crash happened around 7 a.m. local time in Nasugbu town in Batangas province south of Manila, while the truck loaded with steel beams was traveling downhill and lost control.
Police said the four, including the truck driver, truck helper and a resident outside the house, died at the crash site.
The police officer who died was a passenger of one of the cars hit by the truck, police added.
Witnesses told police the truck's tires blew out, causing the driver to lose control. Enditem
