RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Gremio have reached an agreement to sign Colombia international right-back Luis Orejuela on loan from Brazilian Serie A rivals Sao Paulo, the Porto Alegre club said on Thursday.
The 12-month deal marks the 26-year-old's second spell at Gremio following a separate season-long loan in 2020.
"Our second signing for 2022 ... has already worn the Tricolor shirt and now he's back in our squad. Orejuela is coming," Gremio said on social media.
The announcement came less than a day after Gremio also secured a loan agreement for Athletico Paranaense left-back Nicolas Silva.
Orejuela, who has been capped four times for Colombia, made just 15 appearances across all competitions for Sao Paulo following his move from Cruzeiro in March this year.
Gremio will play the 2022 season in Brazilian football's second tier after being relegated for only the third time in their history earlier this month. Enditem
