KHARTOUM, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Sudan and Tunisia on Thursday signed 22 agreements, executive programs and Memoranda of Understanding to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
The operation agreements, signed during meetings of the joint Sudanese-Tunisian Higher Committee, include areas of health, tourism, occupational training and operation, technical education and agriculture.
Sudan's First Vice-President and Prime Minister Bakri Hassan Saleh and Tunisia's Prime Minister Youssef Chahed concluded sessions in Khartoum Thursday.
Saleh reiterated that the two countries are capable of drawing a promising future for the two peoples to gain the fruits of the serious partnership which stands on a historical bond.
Chahed, for his part, announced reopening of the airline between Tunisia and Sudan this September.
"The distinguished outcome of legal framework documents on the different fields of bilateral cooperation will constitute a new platform for the cooperation ties between the two countries," said Chahed when addressing the concluding session of the meetings.
Chahed on Wednesday arrived in Khartoum for an official two-day visit to Sudan.
This is the first visit for the Tunisian prime minister to Sudan since the overthrow of the government of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in January 2011, according to a source in the Tunisian government.
