Fujiazhuang Scenic Spot

The Beach Road extends 30.9 kilometers. In early spring, taking a ride on the road, you will be attracted by the beautiful view of green hills covered with different kinds of bushes and colorful flowers. The vision of the vast sea, distant islands and near reefs in various shapes and sizes will also impress you. In Aug.1988, together with Lushun Kou, the spot was designated by the state council as one of the major national tourist resorts.

In the east is Bangchui Island Scenic Spot, where the famous Bangchui Hotel is located. There are hills in the north and the sea and a sandy beach in the south. The distant misty Sanshan Island looks like a fairyland. A beautiful legend about the enchanting Bangchui Island nearby is popular. The scenes here are mainly composed of green hills, blue ocean, islands and bathing beaches.

Beida Bridge

Built on May 1, 1987 in commemoration of friendly relationship between Dalian and Japanese city, Kitakyushu, the Northern Bridge was a grand bridge traversing a valley. The fascinating and stylish bridge is one of the attractions in Dalian well known for its unique style of architecture.

Bird's Nest Hill is named for the frequent visiting of black swallows, which make nests and settle on the precipitous rock and sheer cliffs. These cliffs have formed a natural scene for their varied shapes. Some looks like fins of a fish; some like a stone statue of Buddha; some like an ancient boat. The nearby Abalone Reef area is rich in abalone. Standing on top of the hill, you can enjoy a bird eye's view of Tiger Beach and Shicao Villiage to the east and Fujia Villiage and Dalian Island to the west. Its sedate valley and tranquil dense woods are quite attractive to visitors. With many rocks and reefs, the area here is abundant in marine products and thus is an ideal place for angling.  

A long way to go

Along the zigzag section of the Beach Road, you will get to Xiuyue Peak scenic spot. A Xiuyue Peak in the east, the highest hill in the area, is 214.3 meters above sea level. A park named Xiuyue Village is under construction. At Xiuyue Peak, You can get the pleasure of holding many activities in the woods and enjoy the wonder of the nature.

Fujiazhuang Scenic Spot follows the Xiuyue Scenic Spot. It is one of the ten leading resorts in Dalian area with unique scenery. In the west is Fujiazhuang Park. Its 550-meter beach boasts smooth sand and clean water. With complete facilities, it is one of the four biggest beaches in Dalian, drawing thousands of tourists every summer. In the east there are a holiday village and a tourist service center. Unique in style of architecture, rows of buildings, like pearls and shells, decorate the hills. It is also a famous convalescent base of the city. More than 10 sanitariums entertain thousands of people from all over the country. People can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing or strolling on wooded lanes.

Next to Fujiazhuang is the Jinshaping Scenic Spot. There is a 200-odd meters tunnel with 3 entrances. The south entrance is under sheer cliffs. The east one is adjacent to a lever land teeming with bright flowers and green grass. A road leads to the seaside. The west one is opposite to Xinghai Park, where you can appreciate various scenes.

The beach features smooth sand, clean water and soft surf. A bow-shaped sandbank is between two headlands. In 1992, an all-day bathing place named Golden Sand Beach Holiday Village was set up, combining eating, lodging, shopping and bathing functions. You can find a snack street, shops, dancing and singing hall, camping zone, solar-powered bathing rooms, sunshades, parking lot, clinic, broadcasting room, lifeboats and other entertainment facilities. Complete and high-class facilities and services bring pleasure to tourists.  

Beach Road in Fall

High above the Beach Road is the largest scenic spot in the South Beach Area---the White Cloud Mountain Park, which occupies an area of 750 hectares. The biggest zoo in North China, Dalian Forest Zoo, is at this area. A newly built mountain path leads visitors to West Peak (259.6 meters above sea level), the highest one on the Beach Road. Standing on the top, one can look into the distance southward as far as the eyes can see: an overlooking view of the peaceful and glistening Yellow Sea, Xiaoping Island, Black Reefs, Xinghai Park, Fujiazhuang Park and so on. Overlooking northward, one can have a view of overlapping hills and mountains like pieces of white cloud. In the distance, urban streets, residence blocks and apartment buildings are scattered like stars. In the northwestern part of this area is the Lotus-shaped Structure---a geological wonder, discovered by Li Siguang, a famous geologist of China. Further west and not far from Xinghai Park, there is the scenic spot of Black Reefs. The coastline here twists with ups and downs. The karst landscape of black reefs, spreading over the bay, was formed about one billion years ago. The black reefs appear and disappear with the ebb and flow of the tide. Here people can enjoy swimming, fishing and canoeing.
