ANTANANARIVO, March 16 (Xinhua) -- President of Madagascar's Football Federation (FMF) Augustin Ahmad was elected president of the Confederation of African football (CAF), FMF vice president Doda Andriamiasasoa said Thursday.
Ahmad won 34 votes against 20 of his competitor Issa Hayatou during an election in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, Thursday.
Ahmad, 57, will leave his post as senator of Madagascar and FMF president to lead the CAF, said Andriamiasasoa.
