RABAT, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) strongly denounced the air strike that reportedly caused toxic gas on the town of Khan Sheikhoun, in southern Idlib, Syria.
Media reports said about 70 people were killed and 200 others wounded Tuesday in the gas attack in a rebel-held area in the country's northwestern province of Idlib.
ISESCO described in a statement on Tuesday the act as a "war crime" and a "crime against humanity," calling on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibility to stop such appalling atrocities in Syria.
