BISHKEK, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States for Afghanistan and Central Asia Henry S. Ensher is visiting Kyrgyzstan for discussions on bilateral issues, the press service of the U.S. embassy here said Monday.
Ensher has arrived to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues with senior Kyrgyz government officials, members of Parliament, and civil society leaders.
He will also meet with alumni of U.S. government exchange programs.
The U.S. diplomat arrived in Kyrgyzstan after his two-day visit to Tajikistan.
Diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the United States were established on Dec. 27, 1991.
The U.S. embassy in Kyrgyzstan was opened on Feb. 1, 1992. In the same year, the official opening of the embassy of Kyrgyzstan in the United States was held.
