Tunisia trade deficit down in first two months of 2018

TUNIS, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia's trade deficit declined by the end of last February to 2,215 million dinars (910 U.S. dollars), compared to 2,511 million dinars (1,032 U.S. dollars in February 2017, announced on Thursday the National Institute of Statistics (INS) of Tunisia.

According to INS, this decline is mainly due to the recovery of exports, growing up to 42.9 percent during this two months, compared to 4.7 percent during the same period in 2017.

In value, exports reached 6,612 million dinars in the first two months, compared to 4,627 million dinars during the same period in 2017, while imports reached 8,827 million dinars against 7,137 million dinars, showed INS in a note of conjuncture.
