RABAT, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A total of four people were killed and two others were seriously injured on Sunday in a road accident near Morocco's northern city of Tetouan, local media reported.
The accident took place when a car and a truck collided in the rural town of Amsa, said the news site Le360.ma.
According to the same source, the victims were transported to Saniat Rmel hospital in Tetouan, while an investigation was launched into the accident.
A total of 3,499 people were killed in road accidents in Morocco in 2017, down 2.62 percent from a year earlier, according to the Moroccan Transport Ministry.
In 2016, the Moroccan government adopted a new national road safety strategy with the aim of reducing the fatalities in road accidents by 25 percent in 2021 and 50 percent by 2026.
