TRIPOLI, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Libyan military prosecutor Masoud Erhuma on Wednesday managed to escape with his two escorts from their kidnappers after more than a month of abduction.
Fadel Erhuma, son of Masoud Erhuma, told Xinhua that his father managed to escape earlier on Wednesday morning after being kidnapped last month and held captive in a farm on the outskirts of the capital Tripoli.
"He took advantage of the weak guards in the location of his detention," Fadel said, stressing that his father is in good health.
Fadel Erhuma did not provide further details on the identity or demands of the kidnappers.
An unknown armed group in March kidnapped Masoud Erhuma and two of his companions near the family's home in Tripoli.
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya had called on Libyan authorities to "investigate his whereabouts, clarify his status and ensure his safety."
