TRIPOLI, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan Foreign Ministry on Wednesday hosted the third international meeting on illegal immigration, in the presence of international organizations and foreign ambassadors, the UN Support Mission in Libya said.

"During the meeting, participants heard the national identified priorities for international assistance in the areas of migration and analyzed existing modalities to match them with offers of support, aiming to address current challenges," the mission said in a statement.

"Some of the priorities highlighted the development of policies and strategies for migration management," the statement said.

The discussion included the engagement of Libyan municipalities and their needs, as well as the private sector's agriculture initiatives in the south as potential options to addressing migration challenges in Libya.

The Libyan Ministry of Labour addressed labour migration in Libya, focusing on opportunities and means to benefit from labour sources and skills available in the country.

The Migration Working Group was launched in 2017 to coordinate technical assistance and policy advice on approaches to migration.
