Police uncover arms cache in western Burundi: police

BUJUMBURA, May 5 (Xinhua) -- The Burundian police Saturday uncovered an arms cache in a river in Bujumbura province, western Rwanda, the police said.

Two guns of different types, four grenades and 24 chargers full of ammunitions as well as a knife hidden in a bag were discovered in the morning in river Gikoma in a joint search operation carried out by police agents and traffic police, said Jean Pierre Kwizera, police commissioner in the province of Bujumbura.

According to him, one of the two guns was a Kalashnikov and the other one was a FAL rifle.
