SINGAPORE, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.92 percent or 32.58 points to close at 3570.17.
A total of 1.86 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.43 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.07 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 243 to 143.
The STI index closed down 0.31 percent or 10.95 points to close at 3537.59 Thursday.
