MUMBAI, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Friday, with benchmark indices extending gains in the last hour of trade.
Metal outperformed the benchmark indices with gains of 1.5 percent. Asian paints, Tata steel, HDFC and Larsen were the top gainers on the indices.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 35,535.79, 289.52 points or 0.82 percent up compared to its previous close at 35,246.27.
