NAIROBI, May 12 (Xinhua) -- English side Hull City head coach, Nigel Adkins believes his Tigers will give a good account of themselves when they take on Kenyan giants Gor Mahia FC on Sunday in their international clash in Nairobi.

Adkins and his charges arrived in Kenya for their maiden tour in East Africa on Friday night with his team that finished 18th in the second-tier English Championship short of some of their notable names.

"I'm really excited, everyone has made us feel welcome and we have a game to play. I've only been here for five months big thing is we made sure we are in the Championship that is great," Adkins said here on Saturday.

"We had a turnover of players now who scored record amount of goals in 10 years. We will build on that for next year and make sure we keep more clean sheets," he added.

The Englishman succeeded former Russia national team head coach, Leonid Slutsky last December and ensured the Tigers stayed up in the Championship following their relegation from the English Premier League at the end of the 2016/17 season.

He is expecting a stun test from Gor who are coached by countryman Dylan Kerr and are yet to lose a game at home this season.

"It will be our tough game for us. We have arrived here at the end of our season, a lot of players are on international duty and others have gone back to their clubs and others are out of contracts. "We know it will be a challenging game and we are looking forward to it. Dylan Kerr is a good manager and he will have his players up for it," Adkin remarked.

Despite coming to Nairobi with a depleted squad, Adkins believes they have enough quality in the ranks to give Gor and the watching Kenyan football fans a good game at the 60,000-seat Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in Nairobi.

"I'm really proud to be here in Kenya, the first time an English club has been here since 1984. It's a great opportunity to engage with everybody and for the players who are here to embrace the culture, take it all on board and it's a special time," the Tigers boss underscored.

Hull will return to Britain for their summer break next Wednesday (May 16) with promising talent, Jarrod Bowen, seasoned Frazier Campbell and former Manchester United FC man Will Keane among the potent forwards in the squad for the Kenyan trip.

French-born Malian forward, Nouha Dicko withdrew from the traveling squad after being called up for international duty by his national team Mali.
