CONAKRY, May 17 (Xinhua) -- The Guinean government led by Prime Minister Mamady Youla resigned on Thursday, as the West African country awaits a new one to be formed in the coming days.
Minister of State and Secretary General of the Presidency Kiridi Naby Youssouf Bangoura officially announced the resignation of the government in a statement to the press.
Bangoura said that President Alpha Conde has "instructed the Prime Minister and the outgoing government to take charge of the day-to-day business until a new government is in place."
Made up of 33 ministers including two secretaries general, the outgoing government was set up in January 2016 by a decree of the President of the Republic.
