MOGADISHU, May 24 (Xinhua) -- The United States military said Thursday that its special forces conducted an airstrike in southwest of Mogadishu, Somalia, killing ten al-Shabab terrorists.
The U.S. Africa Command (Africom) said in a statement that no civilian was killed in the strike that was carried out on Wednesday, about 24 km southwest of the restive capital.
The latest U.S. strike came amid enhanced vigilance by Somalia's stabilization security unit forces who have launched operation targeting several parts of the Horn of Africa nation, in response to increasing terror attacks in the country.
