NAIROBI, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Kenya's women football team say their opponents Equatorial Guinea are scared and under pressure ahead of their return-leg match in the qualifier of Africa Women's Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) on Saturday.

The Harambee Starlets are seeking their second appearance at the Nations Cup in Ghana in November after competing in this event on their debut in Cameroon in 2016.

A win or draw in Bata, Equatorial Guinea will seal their spot in the final seven teams that will join Ghana in the finals.

The Kenyan side carries a slim 2-1 win after beating Equatorial Guinea in Machakos on Wednesday and head coach David Ouma says their work is cut out and will not take anything for granted.

But not to take the gloss off his team, Ouma believes they proved to the world their worth and will hold out for a draw.

"There is no room for complacency. We did our part in the first leg and now the trip to Ghana is just 90 minutes away. I believe we can hold out for a barren draw or catch them on counter attack and kill off the contest," said Ouma here as the team jetted out.

In the first leg match, Harambee Starlets conceded first against Equatorial Guinea through a header by Spain-based Jade Boho Sayo but it was canceled out by Teresa Engesha with Esse Akida scoring the winning goal with six minutes left on the clock.

Ouma, who oversaw Kenya's win on aggregate over Uganda in the first round of the qualification campaign, has expressed optimism that Kenya will make it past Equatorial Guinea.

"Coming from a goal down to win against a team of Equatorial Guinea's caliber just shows how strong our girls are mentally," said Ouma.

"The comeback is a great motivation for us and I am confident that we can get a positive result away from home."

The top two teams in Ghana will secure the ticket to the FIFA Women's World Cup in France in 2019.
