Tourists in BiH up 14.9 pct year-on-year in Jan.-April

SARAJEVO, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) received 343,000 tourists between January and April of 2018, an increase of 14.9 percent year-on-year, official data showed Sunday.

According to data from BiH's Agency for Statistics, there were 724,541 overnight stays during the first four months of 2018, an increase of 17.3 percent year-on-year.

Of the recorded overnight stays, foreign tourists accounted for 67.8 percent, while domestic tourists accounted for the rest.

Tourists from Croatia made up the biggest group with 22.4 percent. In terms of the length of stay, the first place was taken by tourists from Kuwait with an average stay of 3.5 nights.

Tourism, one of the fastest growing sectors in the Balkan country, brings in significant revenue.
